Jack and Joe dunno, do you?

Hey Jack! How ya doin?

Not so great, thanks Joe.

What’s up? Feeling low?

Messenger is slow today.

Can’t seem to find my happy place.

Seen a happy face kicking around?

Not lately Jack. They’re rare

These days don’t yah know.

I saw a couple on Facebook.

Only a couple Joe? Was one mine?

Nope Jack they belonged to

A furry little kitty, cute too!

But the next thing I knew

Someone got shot at the zoo!

And someone else did too!

It’s a jungle out there!

Wish my happy face’d, come home.

Me too. Seems the world is dying,

Did you hear? Ya I do, everyday,

they tell me too.

Joe? Do you

Ever wonder if its true?

Guess I do. If they say its true,

it must be true.

Think maybe

We should go for a real coffee,

Watcha say?

Let’s go see if we can find

Some real happy faces Joe.

OK! Let’s go!

  1. What a brilliant take on real vs virtual happy faces! The facade we create through social media and how sometimes manage to trick even ourselves! 😋 I had to painstakingly teach myself to stay away from most social media sites and especially what to share when I do engage online so it doesn’t interfere with my personal time. 😊 Thank you for sharing this gem, Jen!

    1. It takes awhile to see what all that messaging does to your mind LOL Its a mental rollercoaster. I’m on FB less and less. I have about 6 real life friends on there so I support them. Thanks for seeing my point 😊👍
