The Blogger Recognition Award Nomination. Thank You Sadje, and Congratulations!

blogger recognition award

Sadje’s blogger recognition page

First of all I’d like to thank Sadje for nominating me along with 4 others for this award.

In keeping with the rules of nomination we are asked to answer a few questions.

HOW WE STARTED OR WHY:

I’ve been writing poetry or short stories most of my life. In the mid to late 90’s

I created pages for my poems and stories through free sites on the Web. Around the Year 2000 I left that all behind for about

10 years. When I joined Face Book I saw calls for poetry submissions.

It was suggested I start a Blog, which was an unfamiliar term

for me, and it was suggested I start one on Word Press. So I did.

ADVICE?

Hmm. Give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

There’s a saying, which escapes me, that basically

says you can’t, nor should you judge another

person’s reasons for what they say or do. Something

about “Walking in their shoes.” Lol The joker in me

wants to say “Not in a million years!”

My Grandmother always said: If you have nothing

nice to say, don’t say anything at all. My experience

is the loss in translation, for example, I could type

I hate you! In comments, and leave it at that, OR

I could type “I hate you! LOL and add a smile. I have

been misjudged, so I know.

There’s more to be mentally and spiritually gained

In giving rather than receiving.

NOMINATIONS

Hard. I am relatively new to Word Press. I think I

began writing Starlight and Moonbeams in November

of 2018. I made that my Poetry site and started Jen

Goldie for stories and Biographies. Harmonyville is

strictly for itself.

I love the Word Press Community of supporters and

friends that I’ve discovered. I discover new one’s

almost everyday.

The bottom line is I couldn’t possibly start nominating.

It may sound like a copout and it is! LOL

I love everyone of those I’ve come to know through

reading their work. An amazing group of complex

and sometimes hysterical characters.

Sorry Sadje. But thankyou so much for thinking of me.

That’s over 300 words! Sorry I usually like to stay

under 150. I’ll excuse you if you skip to the end.

It reminds me of the time we had a test in grade

school. The teacher said, read the whole test before

you start. You guessed it!

The last line said

Don’t Do this test!

“I dunno.”

“Not much use going then.”

“Why?”

“Because you’ll be going nowhere.”

 “That’s not true.”

“How’s that?”

“Because I’ll be doing something.”

 “How can you be doing

something by going nowhere?”

“Tell me something.”

“Like what?”

“Like what you’re doing.”

“Nothing.”

“THERE YAH GO!”

“What!”

“Instead of being idyll I’ll be doing

something.”

“Huh?”

“You asked me how I could be doing

something by going nowhere. You

just answered your own question.”

“I did?”

“Yep. You comin?”

“I dunno.”

Whether the marbles are made of clay, glass, wood or metal, they have delighted boys and girls of all ages for thousands of years.

CrimsonProse photo Challenge May 22, 2019

This is the 7th short story about Nancy and Joan’s travelling adventures. They are all inspired by the personal photos presented by Crispina Kemp, taken on her wanderings through the countryside of her beloved home in England.

“Now I have, heard everything”

“Now I call that……”

“Stop!”

“Joan.”

“No Nancy, you’re not going in there.”

“Joan.”

“No!”

“But….”

“But nothing! It looks like it going to cave

any minute.”

“No it doesn’t.”

“Look at that side roof.”

“Awe Nancy, where’s you sense of adventure?”

“You don’t want to know.”

“C’mon lets just take a wee peek.”

“Nancy. There’s no “Wee” in your vocabulary.”

“I won’t touch anything.”

“No! I said no. You’re curiousity is killing me.”

“Nan?”

“Yes.”

“The door is open.”

“No. The top part is open.”

“So we can look in then.”

“Nancy?”

“Yes Joan.”

“Oh alright, but just as you say, only a peek.”

“You coming?”

“Nope. It’s dark in there. Anything could

jump out!”

“I can’t go over there alone.”

“What! You, the intrepid adventurer can’t

go over there alone?”

“Joan?”

“Yes.”

“I’ll just ask you this one time and I promise

I’ll never ask you again.”

“Now I have, heard everything.”

“That’s Poker!”

“Damn it! Ronnie!”

“You’ll have to step up your game Sam.”

“My game?”

“Yah, in case you hadn’t noticed this is a card game.”

“Then I guess I’m the Joker. You’ve beat me 5 games

in a row.”

“Sam, I didn’t invent the game. You’d think I was profiting

by beating you. I don’t have the patent.”

“You’re Royalty Ronnie. You’re the King.

There’s no doubt about it.”

“Alright then, let’s play another hand.”

“You love this game dontcha?”

“I do.”

“O.K. let’s play.”

“Sam?”

“Yup?”

“This time keep your Royals.”

“Why?”

“Cause, I may just abdicate.”

“Abdicate?”

“Yah. That means I may give up my status for

friendship’s sake.”

“Very funny Ron.”

“No. It’s not, and your game play is just fine Sam.”

“Okie Dokie! You’re on! Let’s play!”

“Just deal the cards.”
